Get Involved at Middle Creek through School to Career Initiatives
Employers tell us that students need experiences relevant to the workplace. They are also saying that it needs to start in HIGH SCHOOL even for students who are entering college. Help us provide our students with those opportunities! School-to-Career of Wake County is a collaborative effort between the business community and the school system to enhance and provide additional learning opportunities for both teachers and students. The Business Alliance is a collaboration of business, community and school leaders committed to educating each student to be a responsible and productive citizen who can effectively manage future challenges. The mission of the MCHS Business Alliance is to prepare every student to make knowledegable career choices through the support of academic rigor and work-based learning experiences in a systematic, comprehensive, community-wide effort. Members commit to the mission of the alliance, attend meetings regularly and provide ongoing support of the strategies identified by the WCPSS Strategic Plan.
We are continuously looking for new business partnerships. Business partners can provide the following opportunities:
Career fair participants
Financial literacy events
Host a field trip
Sponsor a student intern or a job shadow student
Assist with mock interviews & resume reviews
Assist with leadership development skills
Assist students in developing presentation skills, soft skills & business etiquette
Assist students with service learning projects
The MCHS Business Alliance meets on the second Thurssday of each month beginning in September and ending in May. Meetings will start at 8:00am in the Middle Creek High Conference Room with a "Meet & Greet" prior starting at 7:45am.
